<br />
1.as5048a is a 14-bit rotary position sensor (formerly known as encoder) with angle measurement and PWM (=pulse width modulation) output in 360° full turn based on non-contact magnetic sensor technology.<br />
The device is suitable for shaft applications in which a simple two-pole magnet is turned above or below the sensor IC and the zero position can be programmed into the device with simple SPI commands.<br />
Magnetic angle position measurement with a resolution of 14 bits = 16384 positions, serial interface (SPI) to digital values per revolution.<br />
2. AS5048 provides PWM output and SPI or I2C interface to provide angle measurement for microcontrollers. There is no need to consider the initial zero position of the chip and the pairing of the magnetic poles of the magnet it uses when performing mechanical design.<br />
Instead, the zero bits can be programmed into the internal memory of the AS5048 as early as assembly through simple SPI or I2C commands (no special programming equipment required).<br />
