With a unique design that is for outdoor projects or DIY iPod chargers, our charger has been tested and improved for more than a year to ensure satisfaction.<br /> <strong>2. Easy to Use:</strong> Choose any one of our numerous 3.7V/4.2V lithium-ion batteries or 6V solar panels. Insert the battery into the BATT port using the 2-pin JST cable and the solar panel into the DC jack using the 2.1mm adapter cable. Put the solar panel outside (and keep the battery cool away from sunlight!) to start the charging process. You can connect it to the LOAD output port.<br /> <strong>3. Efficient Solar Charging:</strong> Our carefully designed charger is specifically made for solar charging, automatically drawing as much current as possible from the panel under any light conditions. Although it may not be a "true" MPPT (maximum power point tracker), it performs almost as well without the added cost of a buck converter. Other batteries may have different voltages, chemical properties, polarity, or lead-out wires.<br /> <strong>4. Complete Kit: </strong>The charger comes with an assembled charging board and a large stabilizing capacitor that must be installed in your finished project. Lipoly batteries or solar panels are not included, but we have plenty available in our store that work great. We've updated the design to make it more compact and have better mounting holes.<br /> <strong>5. Versatile Charging:</strong> Charge your 3.7V/4.2V lithium-ion or lithium-polymer battery using a 5-6V DC, USB, or 6V solar panel! If it's too dark outside, use a USB mini-B data cable or 5V DC adapter. The charger has an automatic current tracking system that efficiently uses any wattage of solar panel and a tri-color LED indicator light for power status, charging, and done. The low-power indicator is fixed at 3.1V, and the maximum charging rate is set to 500mA, which can be adjusted between 50mA and 1A by soldering resistors. It will always draw as much current as possible from the solar panel - achieving maximum charging rates! The intelligent load allocation automatically uses input power when available to prevent constant battery charging/discharging.
