Description:<br />
This handy little TPS62827-based step-down converter takes up to 5.5V input and provides 3.3V output and up to 2A of current. It's perfect for powering circuits that require 3.3V from a range of battery or power supply options. The chip provides up to 2 amps of load current over the entire input voltage range of 3.4 to 5.5V. That range isn't huge, but it covers LiPo batteries, 3-cell alkaline batteries, and USB power.<br />
Great for your portable projects, we made this chip "pin compatible" with the LM1117-3.3V TO-220 chip, so you can swap it out for better performance (90-95% efficiency!) There's also an ENable pin, tie it low to completely shut down the output.<br />
The TPS62827 Breakout runs at a fixed frequency of 2.2 MHz. Although the chip itself supports up to 4A, we found that around 2 amps is the best maximum to maintain constant current draw, and 3 amps for temporary peak current draw.<br />
